Last night was a nice and uneventful Halloween. I love it. Aaron came home from work, played with the kids in the backyard, and we ate a jack-o-lantern pizza from Papa Murphy's. To tell the truth, I was happy with not going trick or treating, but I'm also 33 and am done with that stuff! The girls were about to jump out of their skin, they wanted to go sooo bad. So we got them all ready in their "Incredible" costumes and set out for a short evening of treating before church last night. They were great and we have some really nice neighbors. We got to meet the people that live at each end of our street and that was nice. We were done in about 30 because we only did our street (and we had church)...we were about the only people at church, they combined most of the kids bible classes, but I wanted to go because this is my one Wednesday night not to teach in Club 56 and I really wanted to go to Allan's (our preacher) class that he has been teaching! So, since there were only 2 kids in Club 56, I sent them to another class with just a few kids in it and went to enjoy a discussion on the Sermon on the Mount. It was great and I'm so glad that we went...our kids got all the real candy that they needed (I mean really, do they need to eat THAT much candy?) at our church's Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday night. After church, we put the kids in bed and watched, Mr. Brooks, with Kevin Costner. Oh, my word! That movie was so weird and scary. I honestly don't think I could recommend such a sick movie to anyone. So, unless you like murder, blood and weird mind game movies, DON'T go see this one. I went to bed and my tummy hurt, if that gives you any indication of the movie...it was just strange. Hopefully, next Wednesday we get a more upbeat and friendly movie for our movie night!!

The Strawberry Shortcake costume was borrowed from a friend whose mother made it (including the green/white tights). You might could find one on ebay???
Glad y'all also had a fun Halloween!
Sorry you didn't get to make it to homecoming either. I told Beth that I felt the "call of the couch" even from Natchez Trace State Park where we were at the marriage retreat on Saturday afternoon and I could hardly keep my eyes open! Finding out that I didn't miss seeing you and your kids made it a little easier for me to swallow not being at homecoming!
