Visitors!
We had a super weekend! My family came from Arkansas to visit us all and we had so much fun. It was a very short visit, but we are thankful for just getting to see them! My parents, my sister, Jessica, and my grandma came on Friday (well, really Saturday) night. We really didn't do very much, we just all enjoyed being together and staying up way too late!
Aunt Jess always buys the girls a toy when she comes to visit (or when they go to see she and Uncle Cliff) so this trip Susie picked out "Hungry Hungry Hippo"....I never had that game growing up, but I so remember wanting one from all the commericals on TV! Sus loves it and they played all weekend with her new game.
Grace picked out this purple Care Bear. She kept saying, "I have ALWAYS wanted a Care Bear!"....so of course, Aunt Jess told her she could have one! We had a great visit and can't wait until they can come back again and see us! Hopefully next time it will be warmer and we can do some fun stuff all together!! Next week, Aaron's mom comes! We love visitors, so come and see us!!!

The Colts are going to the SUPER BOWL!!!
YES!! The Colts did it last night and beat the NE Patriots and now they are SUPER BOWL BOUND!! Look out, Bears, here come the Colts and we are sooo very excited around here at the Colts headquarters in Texas! My tummy has never been in such knots over a football game. I literally was getting sick in the last 4 minutes of the game when we were down, but then they came back and scored with one minute, yes, one minute left in the game. And, oh my word, the interception at the end was just the icing on the cake. It was a great evening at our house, indeed. Feb. 4 can't come quick enough!
Aaron and Parker stood the entire game in front of the TV in their matching jerseys. Quite the pair, these two!!
We went out to lunch after church with some new friends and then just drove across the street to Home Depot to get some primer. It is so nice to just drive down the street and find what you need without having to drive for an hour! The primer is for the new bookshelves and toy box that Aaron made the kids on Saturday. They had lots of fun painting on the primer. We will see how they do with the real paint this afternoon!
The girls wanted curley hair for church yesterday so they both slept in sponge rollers. Sus' hair was so curley, I could hardly brush it out! Grace's curlers fell out (that girl sleeps sooo hard) so we just curled hers under with the curling iron. 3 of the 4 loves of my life!!!

Great Morning!
Wouldn't you just love to wake up to this sweet face next to you? He is just getting so big! Right now he is enjoying a nap so I'm enjoying a little free computer time. Aaron took Grace to school and Susie just woke up and is eating her breakfast!
Grace was taking pictures last night. She is becoming quite the little Papa's girl in that department. I think she has "the eye" for photography...we'll have to see what she decides to do with her talent in that department!
Aaron has enjoyed the "dressing up" part of his new job. For 8 years, he has worn jeans and t-shirts under a pair of Schlumberger blue coveralls. Now he gets to wear dress shirts and dress pants. My little brother, Jon, brought Aaron this black striped shirt back from Italy and it looks sooo great on him! When we finally get a date night, this is what I want him to wear. Thanks Jon for the great gift, we both love how it looks!
After dinner every night, Grace helps me clean off the table and then she sets up the chess board for she and Aaron to play. She is quite good. Aaron is teaching her the "ins and outs" of the game. What is funny is that she can already beat me, but that isn't a surprise...I'm terrible and can hardly remember what piece moves where and for how many moves. My friend, Courtney, in Graham introduced Grace to the game and Aaron bought Grace this set for Christmas. They have played everynight for the past 3 weeks. Look out, she may put up quite a fight if you challenge her to a game!

Snow Day again!!
It snowed yesterday so Grace and Aaron enjoyed a day off from school and work. I know, it doesn't look like any "real snow" but there was a thin layer of ice under it so it made the roads pretty slick for all us Texans.
Aaron, Parker and I went back to bed and the girls watched TV for a little while. When I woke up, Aaron had taken Grace outside to play. She dressed herself and her daddy let her go outside without a coat because she (the 5 year old) told him that she didn't need one because she had on 3 shirts. Pretty funny. Susannah stayed inside because she was trying on all the new dresses that we got out of Grace's hand-me-down to Susie box. She was very excited to get some new clothes!
pictures...
Susie being sweet and posing for the camera, like always (well, most of the time, anyway!) Don't you want to come and visit this little one in Texas?
Parker ate his first real baby food on Tuesday night. We are finished with baby rice cereal and this week it is carrotts. Yes, he loves them and they are Tennessee orange! By last night's dinner, he was grabbing the spoon to put them in his mouth, boy does he LOVE to eat. Now I know he must be ours, for sure!! Notice that his bib says, "Thank Heaven for little girls"....it could work for him, too!! There is nothing like hand-me-downs from big sisters!!
Aaron and Parker in front of their new TV. The boys and their new toy!!
Random pictures
I was unpacking a box upstairs and found my wedding dress. I so need to get it put in a box and stored professionally, but for now it will just have to hang in a closet upstairs. The girls wanted to try on my veil...I know, before I know it, they will have their own veil on, but for now, they will be my little girls playing dress up and dreaming of wedding days!!
I came back downstairs the other morning to find Grace watching TV with her feet up on Parker's toy and her was playing with her feet. It was pretty cute the way that Grace would play with him and keep him entertained!! Both girls love their little brother....
And Mommy loves him, too!!

The new season...
The new season of 24 started last night. I won't write about anything that happened on the show for those of you that have TiVoed it and have told your husbands that you won't watch it until they get home from Vegas, Mom. No cheating, I know how much you love your Jack Bauer! He he he. It was good, but a little different Jack than we are used to seeing, but I'm sure things will liven up tonight with yet another 2 hours of Jack and company to enjoy! We have been in the middle of a big "ice storm" or so they call it here in our area. Right now (11:30 AM) it is 26 degrees outside. Pretty chili for Texas, but it is a very nice change. The trees are covered in the ice and they are just beautiful. I love seasons and so appreciate the way that God shows us His wonders in everything.
Aaron is at work. He left late this morning to give the roads a little time to heat up from the sun and when he got there, no one else showed up!! So, he is there by himself getting lots of stuff done and is going to come home after lunch. Grace is enjoying a day off from school for MLK, jr. Day and I totally enjoyed sleeping in for the 3rd morning in a row!! Yes!! Of course, sleeping in for us is 8:15-8:30, but at least it's not 6:45-7:00 AM!! We didn't have church services at the building yesterday, the whole town has been pretty much shut down for 3 days. If it doesn't warm up, Grace may not have school tomorrow. We were trying to explain MLK, jr. to Grace last week because you forget that our kids have no idea who he is and what he did for our country until they go to school. Of course, she listens much better to her teacher when she tells them things, so she came home from school on Friday full in information and was just floored that people would be "so mean" to others because they have a different skin color. That made me feel good that she has such a sweet heart and wants everyone to be kind to everyone else. I love my babies!! I hope she keeps that attitude! Of course, she always thinks that she is "different" because she has red hair and no one else does that she really knows, so she really has a special place in her heart for "different people" as she says that she is herself...he he he. Boy, is she different, if she ONLY knew!!! :)
I got to talk to one of my best buds, Amber on the phone last night and that was great. It always makes me have such a great day (or night as it was yesterday) to talk to Amber. I think I went to sleep with a big smile on my face, thanks for the great conversation, girlie!! Ya'll need to plan a trip to the south to see us!!
My little sister is in New York this week having fun working...well, okay working and having a little fun. The Super Nanny was on her plane yesterday. Jess always has the best stories on her NY trips. Let's hope she gets to do lots of shopping and gets us some cool NY clothes on this trip! She and mom are supposed to come and visit us this weekend!!! I can't wait!!!

Aaron's dream
Aaron's dreams and wishes all came true this week. He got his dream TV. After the house finally closed on Wednesday (the closing company paid someone to physically go to the woman's house in California and pick up the signed papers because she kept "forgetting" to mail them back to the closing company here in town, I think she was just finding yet another way to stall and get back at her husband after the divorce, but she wasn't hurting him, she was just hurting us!!) we drove over to Frye's Electronics and Aaron picked out his new TV. If you have never been to Fryes, I suggest you don't try it with your husband the first time, or if you do, get a babysitter! It is every gadget man's dream store. I really think that Aaron could live in that store and be just fine. It is like a HUGE Best Buy/Radio Shack/Sears all in one. I knew Aaron was like this when we were dating, but man, this store is too much! It is pretty cool, but not cool if you have to keep up with 3 kids while your husband is picking out his TV!
The flat screens look pretty big in the store, but not near as big as they look when they are taking it out of the box in your house. Those boxes that they ship them in are just soooo big!! We had to have it delivered because there was no way it was going to fit in the Tahoe with 3 kids in car seats, too. So, they came yesterday and sat it down in the living room floor so that I could keep the kids away from it all day until Aaron got home from work. He first thing mounted it to the wall and got it all hooked up so that we could see how it looked...what a big boy and his new toy. It is really neat. Now he is set and I have more boxes to unpack!

Things are good
Things are going great here in our new city. I have the whole downstairs unpacked along with both the girls rooms unpacked at this point. Pretty good for just starting on Saturday, I think. Poor Parker. His room is off by itself in the other hall, so I haven't gotten to his things at all yet. He has just been sleeping in the playpen in our bedroom for the time being. I really don't think I want him all the way upstairs anyway. I am so enjoying being here with Aaron. Even though tonight he is upstairs in his media room playing X-Box live with some other adult men that he met at church on Sunday, and I am downstairs in the living room on the laptop. It is just so peaceful that we are all together as a family in our own house and for that I am so very thankful!
I decided today that I am never again buying anyone candlestick holders for wedding gifts, or any other gifts. I unpacked way too many sets of them today and I never use them!! Maybe when we are older and can entertain more, I don't know, but for now, they are all just collecting dust in a closet upstairs. The crazy things that we register for when we get married that we hardly ever use...oh if I knew then what I know now! What is that they say? Hindsight is 20-20, right?
Speaking of sight...I tried to order some replacement contacts from 1-800 contacts this past week. When they called my eye doctor's office in Graham to verify my perscription the office wouldn't give it to them because I haven't been in for a check-up in 13 months...yes, I was there in December of last year and now they won't let me order new contacts from 1-800 contacts!!! I need new contacts and now I'm going to have to go in and get a new eye test and all I want is some contacts!!!! I was so frustrated, but I'm over it now, well, maybe not completely, but I'll be fine in the morning.
I'm off to bed, tomorrow is yet another day of unpacking and hopefully we will close on our house in the afternoon. Yes, we STILL haven't closed because the woman in the divorce settlement still hasn't signed the house papers. Oh well, life is good for us here together so we are happy. God is good and I am so thankful for that, even though I don't have my new contacts!!

Unpacking!
We are here and have been oh so busy for the past 2 days unpacking boxes. Aaron got my home computer unpacked and set up so that I could finally download my Christmas pictures. Of course I'm not going to put many up today because I am going to finish unpacking the kitchen before lunch and start on my bathroom boxes...I have got to find my hair dryer, it is too cold for wet hair!!
Grace started chewing on her fingers this year, I think it has something to do with starting Kindergarten and all, I really don't know. I do know it is yuck, so I told her if she would stop doing it, we would go and get a manicure. I guess it worked because here she is at the nail studio. Let's hope it keeps her fingers out of her mouth!!
Grace got an Easy Bake oven for Christmas so we had to try it out while we were still at Nana's house. Those liitle cakes are just as tiny as ever!! I think they should be called Easy Bake bites, instead of cakes!!!
Every time we move, we take pictures of the kids in the boxes...Here is Parker's first box picture and hopefully our last for a good many years. We love our new house and neighborhood. Grace's school is right around the corner and our church is about a 5 minute drive. Life is good in the Green house, except for a lot of boxes around!! Now we need visitors!!

From room 219
Hey ya'll! We are still here in the hotel, but Aaron is meeting with our realtor in a few minutes to get the keys to our new house. I can't wait!! I'm here in the hotel with Susannah and Parker packing up our stuff from 4 days in a hotel...big messes, it's an extended stay place so we have extra room, which means we have more stuff!!
Last night we tried out Legacy Church of Christ. It's close to the house and everyone was super nice. We are going to go back on Sunday and try it again! Anyone have a favorite church around here that they could suggest? Aaron tried out NRH Church of Christ and we decided that it was just "too big" for us right now. I know, it's an awesome church and all, but I'm sure that there are lots of awesome churches here in this area, we just want to find a place where we can serve and not be soo overwhelmed.
Grace started her new school today and was so excited. Her teacher is really nice. She is no Mrs. Miller, but I'm sure we will like her just as much, eventually! There are 4 Kindergarten classes and they have their own little wing of the school. They call them Kindergators, because the school mascot is the gator. Pretty cute. We found the Wal-Mart yesterday and bought all of her school supplies for the new school. Yes, we can officially live here because there is a Super Center Wal-Mart and Super Target within 5 minutes of our house! SWEET!!! So, Grace is at school and the little ones and I need to get everything cleaned up. I'll try to post more later. The movers come tomorrow with all of our stuff. Tonight we are going to "rough it" in the new house with the stuff we have in our cars!! I'm taking Parker and Susannah to Graham to see Dr. Steve and get some shots tomorrow so we are staying busy. I drove all over town yesterday getting utilities put in our name, so I'm really getting the hang of this big city stuff...Mom, even you could get around NRH....it's easy!!

Happy New Year 2007!!
Hope that ya'll have a wonderful 2007 from the Green family! We leave after the Tennessee Vols game today for our new home in North Richland Hills, TX. We have run into a few little glitches this week with the new house. We were supposted to close on our new house on Tuesday. I say "were" because we found out this week that our house is part of a divorce settlement and the couple didn't disclose that to us or the title company until a few days ago. Now, both of them have to sign the closing papers and the last we heard, they couldn't find the wife because she is somewhere in Las Vegas!!! So, we are leaving for our hotel in Ft. Worth with our 3 sweet kids and our little dog to stay until they call and say we can come and sign the papers and get the keys to our new house!! Hopefully they can find the wife today and she can get the papers signed and back to the title company in time for Grace to start school on Thursday...if not, we'll just drive from our hotel!
Christmas went great here in Searcy. The kids got EVERYTHING they wanted and more, of course and we are going to have some time getting everything in the car tomorrow to drive to our new town.
Here is a short list of what I got from Aaron:
1. Tennis rackets (one for me and one for him, to play together)
2. Hand held back massager
3. New unmentionables (they are so pretty)
4. Lots of candy and new tennis balls to go with our rackets
That's about it...we are getting a new house, so I'll get lots of new presents when we finally get to move in!!
What did Santa bring you special this year?
