She is 6, already??

I know...kids are born, the have birthdays, they grow up. Yadda, yadda, yadda. It's the whole circle of life thing...I get it. Susannah turns 6 years old today and I just can't believe it! I count our moves by the ages our kids were when we moved. When sweet Susannah was born, she (and her crazy parents and 2 year old sister) were planning to move to Alaska. Sweet little Susie Q...she was 7 days old and we all hopped on a plane to the middle of the Alaskan wilderness! Okay, not really. We loved our town and our friends up there...it was a great adventure! We moved back to the lower 48 right before Susie's 2nd birthday. I told you, I remember moves by my kids birthdays.

Susannah woke up bright and early this morning, came in our room all dressed and ready for the day! "I'm SIX today, Mom and Dad!!" She was grinning from ear to ear and I loved it. She wanted muffins for breakfast, so I of course, stayed up last night making her favorites. We put a candle in one and sang to her this morning. Gotta start off the big day, the right way! I'm off to Ladies Bible Class-we are doing the Beth Moore Daniel study, sooo great! I totally recommend it if you ever get a chance to do one of her studies. This one is great! After ladies class, it's off to Susie's school to bring her some lunch and of course, princess cupcakes!!

Happy 6th Birthday Sweet Susannah! We love you so much!!

Little Hot Stuff!

We had a fabulous weekend with our friends in Ft. Worth this weekend! Parker was asked to be in a wedding forever ago and of course, we couldn't let him miss being a ring bearer just because we moved to Houston!! We have been talking to Parker about this wedding for some time and we always got the same response, "I do NO want to wear a tuxedo!" We bought the cutest little tux online (great deal! let me know if you want to know the site!) but he didn't want anything to do with the tux or the wedding.

Until about 2 weeks ago.

Yes, we bribed our 3 year old. And if you haven't, you've never tried to get a 3 year old boy in a suit and have him walk down an isle. With people watching.

We told him he could have any toy he wanted.

Yes, we did.

We said that.

He choose a brand new Buzz Lightyear doll.

When we moved here to Houston, we went over to Kyle and Leslie's house for lunch. Their 9 year old son has an old Buzz Lightyear from many years ago that Parker just fell in love with that very day. Leslie, of course, being the good friend that she is, let Parker take it home. That little boy has taken Buzz to bed with him every night for over a month, so of course, he would want his VERY OWN Buzz Lightyear.

We told him that he had to walk down the isle, sit quietly and then walk back down. He did just that on Saturday night and looked so very cute doing it, so of course, I bought that little man a Buzz Lightyear doll. It's not every day that you get to wear a tux and carry a pillow for someone's wedding, you know!

It's Football Time!!

It's Football Time in Tennessee...or Houston....where ever you may live and watch the Vols! Aaron and the kids have been playing and watching the game today. We are loving the touchdown fest this second half. We were getting a little worried in the first quarter, but things are now all good for the Vols and their fans. After every touchdown, Aaron does push-ups for how many ever points that the Vols have at that point in the game. Parker and Susie are following their daddy and doing their push-ups this year, too!

Parker and Susie were getting a little bored in the first quarter (and so were we) so they were playing in jersey. Silly kids. The first touchdown of the Tennessee Season!! Whoooo Hooooo! Here is to a great year of Tennessee Football and the beginning of the Lane Kiffin era!

When Parker was a baby, Aaron would hold him and watch the games (he can't sit during the games...I know, but he can't.) Now that Parker is so big...we could hardly catch him for this picture!! Go Vols!!

Parker's first day...

Today Parker was off to school...literally. As soon as we got out of the car, he ran to the building. He was so excited to be a "big kid" and go to school. We walked in handed over his stuff and we were outta there. I think it was the quickest 3 year old drop-off, EVER.

Wasn't he just born?? Why does the baby grow up so much quicker than the other kids? He was ready to go this morning at 6:50 and all I wanted to do was sleep until 7:00!!

I told you that he ran ahead of us...Lucky for us, he stopped at the front door and waited.

There was one little boy in there, bless his little heart, that was clinging to the door and screaming, "I WANT MY MOM!!" I hope he stopped crying...that would break my heart. Although, I'm not sure that having one that didn't even say bye was better! Parker gave me a high five and ran off to do a puzzle. Aaron is home today getting some work done before his next teaching session starts tomorrow, so I'm hoping he will take me to lunch!! I know Parker is having a blast at school and I'll see that big boy at 2:30!!
