It's SNOWING!!!

I woke up this morning to check the radio to make sure that school was cancelled for Grace and sure enough it was, so I went back to bed only to be woken up a little while later by two VERY excited little girls. "IT'S SNOWING!! WAKE UP!!"
I got them all bundled up and out they went for so long that I had to call them in to warm up!! Oh how I miss our easy one-piece snow suits and snow boots from Alaska. I hope whomever we gave them away to is enjoying them now!! I did find a pair of Grace's old boots for Susie, but Grace is stuck wearing her cowboy boots for this year.
The first thing Grace did was to lay down and make a snow angel! So, she taught Susie and now our back patio is covered in angels.
Aaron took them over to the playground where they had more snow to play and more room for snow angels. Parker and I stayed here at home in the warm!!
Get ready Arkansas, the snow is headed up ya'll's way!!! Happy snow day from Texas!! 

Vacation!

I posted these pictures yesterday, but I'm just now getting to tell what they are....This picture is of Parker (in blue) and his littler cousin Jonas (being held by my hairy brother Jeremy. he he he) They were born 10 days apart and just love being together! It was like watching little twins in action.
Here are some pictures from the Colts vs. Cowboys game. Yes, I know, the Colts lost, but Aaron was so close to the field, it wasn't even funny. I wish we had a decent camera, it would tell a better story. Parker was great the whole game. Everyone loved his little Peyton Manning jersey. It was a game I don't think we will ever forget!!!

Surprise!

The girls were sitting together so sweet waiting for Aaron to get dressed so they could give him his birthday/Christmas/Valentines' Day present!!
Aaron's birthday is right around the corner and all he ever wants is video games. Well, I was trying to get creative this year and I think I have reached the pinnacle of my creativity. I bid and bid for 3 days on Dallas Cowboys vs. Colts tickets on Ebay and finally one them!! And even better, the tickets that I won are right behind the Colts bench where Aaron can watch Peyton Manning (his most favorite football player EVER) live and in person right up close!! Our seats are near the 35 yard line on the 3rd row!! I just hope we are up high enough to see the game!! So, we are meeting my sweet sister and brother-in-law halfway and they are taking the girls for the weekend, so that Aaron and I (and baby Parker) can enjoy a weekend in Dallas and watch those Colts whoop up on the Cowboys!!! Aaron REALLY loved his surprise. We gave him the tickets today and he could hardly believe that they were real!!
 

Proud!

Today I am just such a proud Mommy. Grace (and the rest of the Kindergarters) sang at the Veteran's Day Celebration here in Graham. It was a great tribute to all of our heroes and I was so glad that our kids could be a part of such a great ceremony! Grace is standing on the front row, very middle in a red shirt. They were told to wear red, white or blue shirts with jeans. She was so cute and did so great with her songs. After they were done singing, they closed the curtain and went back to school and I kept Susie and Parker there for the rest of the ceremony. A lot of people left after the kids sang and that is their loss. The program after they sang was WONDERFUL! It made me so proud to be an American and live in a free country. I am so grateful for all those who have served and are serving in our military to keep us safe and free.
Here is Susie after the ceremony standing beside one of the jeeps that they brought to show for the collection. There were medals, photos, uniforms and lots of great stories told. What a great morning. If you have a chance, take your kids and yourself to a ceremony to honor our veterans. Our children need to learn of the service men and women who gave their service to make our country great! 

Busy!

Okay, I'm so sorry that I've not posted in a week or so...things around here have just been so busy!! We got a call this week that a family from church was interested in our house here in Graham. What great news, we thought, and then the cleaning began. I honestly think that every family should have to show their house to someone new at least once a year. That way we clean out EVERYTHING!! Yes, you know that show, Design to Sell? Well, we could so be on that show now...we did everything that they say to do, lets just pray that this family likes our house. We told them the price today and they are getting back to us later in the week. What is great about them buying our house is that they don't want to move until after school is out and neither do we!! How great would that work out! We started a new ladies bible class at church on Mondays during the lunch hour. We are doing a great Beth Moore study on "Believing God"...I'm really excited and I LOVE her homework, it makes me dig in the scripture and that is so good for me!! Here is a picture of Parker eating (or making a mess of) his first food last night at dinner. He really could have cared less about it so we are going to wait a few more weeks before we try the cereal again. He had his 4 month check-up (and shots, yuck!) on Friday and did great. He weighs almost 15 pounds and is almost 25 inches long!! He is just getting so big, too fast!! He also is starting to grab things and actually play with them...it's really cute to watch.
Since we were taking pictures of Parker eating, the girls wanted to pose and have their picture taken, too....they are their Aunt Jessica's nieces, for sure!!! Grace was putting on her new purple shirt the other day and told me, "You know, Mom, purple is the new kacki, it looks so good on me." Yes indeed, you do like fashion WAY too much for a 5 year old. Are you sure you don't belong to your Aunt Jess? I like my jeans and tennis shoes way too much to be related to fashion Grace somedays!!
 

Halloween and Homecoming!

Okay, I know this isn't the best picture of Aaron and the kids, but my camera battery was not working the best last night and this was about the only semi-good picture that I got of the "Halloween Express." Aaron pulled the kids around our neighborhood and I carried Parker. It was perfect Trick-or-treating weather. What we didn't know was that our neigborhood is a trick-or-treating hot spot for Graham. We have the only kids in our neighborhood for probably a 2 block area. Everyone else either has teen agers or are grandparents. We love it though. Our neighbors are so sweet and caring and they tell great stories. Last night, there were so many cars in our little neighborhood, I couldn't even count them! We left out a really big bowl of candy on the front porch and a note for while we were out having fun, and when we got home an hour later, not one little piece was left!! Homecoming was this past weekend in Searcy. I love homecoming, but I love it more because I get to go "home." I love being with my family. My parents are the best. They were really busy this weekend with a funeral of a dear family friend, Dr. Joe Pryor, but you wouldn't know it because they did so many things with us and the girls. We did a Cancer "Stroll" on Harding Campus and that was really special. I hope they keep it up and it gets bigger every year. Reagan's Murr (that is her grandma, but they call her Murr, I hope I spelled it right!) made a special hat for a little girl here in Graham that has cancer. I can't wait for her to get it, it is so very cute!! I got to lots of people from years past and that was neat. My friend Allison Travis Clanton and her husband have just adopted a beautiful little boy from Russia and I got to see them. I hadn't seen her since graduation and it was great to talk with her for a while....lots of special people!! Tammie, Tim, Reagan and Beckie were missed much!! Next year we had best be seeing ya'll at Homecoming!!

We had a fun weekend, but all fun things must come to an end and we made the journey home...it was fine and the kids all did great in the car! Aaron only has 9 more days of work here in Graham and then he is off until Dec. 1, when he starts his new job in Ft. Worth!! He is so excited and I am too!! We got out the tights and long underwear for trick-or-treating last night....even Tinkerbell needs to stay warm!!
