Grace's Texas song

Here is one of our little Texans.

Sweet photo...

Parker learned how to give kisses last week and boy does he love to "kiss" on his big sisters!! I think this photo is going to go in my all time favorites folder. I love all my babies, even though they aren't all babies anymore! I'm going to post a video of Grace singing a song she learned at school yesterday...this is "Texas week" at school and they are learning ALL about Texas. How 'bout that, Miss Beckie? :)

This time of year ALWAYS messes me up!

I really don't like this time of Feburary. I always think that I have another week left in the month and then I realize that I don't!! It is going to be March in 2 days!! What is even sadder is that I KNOW it does this every year, but yet, I still forget and then get mad that I don't have this extra week to get some stuff done that I need to get done....Crazy!
Just thought I would write that.....

Parker is cutting 2 teeth and is fighting a cold, to boot! Sus and Grace are just being great and having fun. My mom came this past weekend and it was wonderful. We went out to the movies Sat. night and it was nice to just have some "us" time. Thanks, Mom!! You are the best!

How about this?

The crawler

Here are some action shots of Parker crawling towards me as I am holding the camera. I have some video...anyone know how to help me post it to my page?
Parker got this outfit as a baby gift from some friends in Graham at his baby shower. It is a Harding outfit, but hit at the wrong season, so I am trying to get him to wear all these 9 month clothes that really don't fit him, but I feel bad that he hasn't gotten to wear all these cute little outfits because old man winter decided to visit Texas for longer than normal this year!!

You know this little boy is a true Green kiddo. He sticks out his tounge all the time, just like his big sisters and his daddy!! Okay, now give me some pointers on how to post video!!

Farm Program

Last night was Grace's Kindergarten farm program. There were no specific costumes, just dress up like animals from the farm. So, here is chicken Grace! Lucky for us, Grace was a chicken for Halloween a few years ago and we had bought her costume too big then (they like to dress up in them after halloween, so I always get them a little bigger!) and it still fit her (enough) for this program. The sleeves were a little short, but she was still a cute little chicken!
Grace had the very first lines of the program. She was the "welcome" kid and did a super job! She spoke very clearly and you could understand her...but I'm not biased or anything, at all! :) The program was cute. Only a few kids got speaking parts, so that has given Grace a little extra confidence in a new classroom and all. We were sooo proud of her, for sure!!
Susie was excited to see her big sister on stage and gave her a big hug when it was all over! Of course, she wanted to be on stage with her. "I want to be a little chicken beside my big sister chicken, Mommy!"....Sisters!
Parker is a full force little one now....he started crawling Friday night and boy, oh boy, he is soooo fast and into everything! I'm going to try and post some video of him crawling later. Last night we had his car seat on the living room floor and he played in it for over an hour! For right now, I have to do some research on new car seats for he and Susie. He is at the very end of this car seats life...he weighs over 20 lbs. and is almost 29 inches long...they aren't made for big boys very long! Any help, anyone on good car seats? Susie needs a new one, too. She is in a Britax roundabout right now, but is just too tall, too....what am I going to do with these tall kids?

Sunday Blogging

Yes, you know when I blog on a Sunday, there must be a sick one in the house. Grace woke up late Friday night with a really high fever and then suddenly threw up...fun for us! So, she has spent the weekend in our bed sleeping. This morning she woke up with no fever, but I kept her home from church this morning just in case there are some little bugs still hanging around. If she feels better tonight, we will be off to church and her beloved bible hour!
Aaron's mom flew back to Gramps in Seattle on Friday afternoon. We had a great and very busy visit with her here. The house looks great now that there is some paint on the walls!! Aaron built a table for under the TV yesterday and it looks sooooo awesome. He is putting the final coat of poly on it today and we should have it in the living room tomorrow! He is so talented and really loves woodworking....something to do when you have a sick little one inside!

Fun weekend for the rest of us, though. Thomas and Sara Ritchie and the rest of their mission team that is going to Rwanda came and stayed at our house for the weekend while they met at the N. Richland Hills church for mission meetings. They have a great group and are going to be doing wonderful work when they get to Rwanda in Jan. 2009.

Also, my college room mate and dear friend, Shellie and her family were in town for some stuff and we finally got to see each other last night for a few hours. Not what we had planned, but we had a great time and enjoyed our visit even if it was short. Their little boy is sooooo cute and he and Sus had fun playing in the playroom while Grace had to rest in our room downstairs.
Now all the company is gone and I'm off to wash towels and sheets from their stay. It is great to have visitors!!
Aaron took Susie to church with him this morning. Since I was staying home with Grace, I decided to keep Parker here too, so Aaron decided today was a great day to wear his new suit! You know, baby drool and spit up don't go well with pin stripes!

My Valentines!

Happy Valentine's Day! Things have just been a hoppin' at our house this past week. Aaron's mom arrived and we have been busy. Aaron always puts his mom to work when she comes and visits and we have gotten so much done on the house. We painted the living room and kitchen on Saturday...it's amazing what a $16 bucket of paint will do for a room! Monday we painted Grace's room light purple and yesterday morning we painted Susie's room light pink (of course!)....we went our shopping yesterday afternoon for some new furniture for the girls rooms. Okay, if you have not priced kids furniture lately, you will be soooo floored. They wanted over $500 for a daybed at one store and it wasn't even all wood! It was that fake stuff....I'm not a builder of fine furniture or anything, but even I can put the fake stuff together and not charge an arm and a leg for it in a kids department!

We went to IKEA on Sunday after church. If you have not been, I so suggest you go, but go knowing that you have to spend at least 2-3 hours there. They even have babysitting! It was great. The girls played in the playroom and we shopped for one whole hour by ourselves. Aaron and I are going back in a few hours to get some things for the kids and Aaron's mom is going to stay with the little ones while we get a few hours away!
Aaron's took the past 3 days off while his mom has been here and it's been great fun...of course, we have been painting and working, but anytime is fun time together.

The girls loved their Valentines this morning...Grace got a rose,Cinderella 3(new movie) and a Kim Possible sweatshirt (she loves that red-headed supergirl!)....Sus was so excited because she got her very own Care Bear. She has been carting around Grace's purple Care Bear for about 2 weeks, so Grace is happy she got one, too!
Hope that you have a wonderful Valentine's Day and know that some little Valentine's in Texas love you!!!

I'm so excited!

I got a phone call last week from some of our younger friends in Searcy who need a place to stay in a few weekends here in our neck of the woods. Of course, we were so excited to have company and said yes...then not a day later do I get an e-mail from my roommate from college saying that they (she, her husband and little boy) are coming the same weekend! I'm sooooo excited! I haven't seen Shellie since Homecoming 2001 when Grace was 3 months old and that is WAY too long to go in-between visits, for sure.

Things are starting to get pretty busy around here. Last night I went to the movies with 6 other girls from church. It was fun, we went to the Grapevine-Mills Mall and then we went and saw, "Catch and Release"...your typical chick flick, but hey, we are chicks, right? It was the first time I have been to the movies without children in tow in about 7 months...we went when Parker was about 2 weeks old and my mom stayed with the kids and we saw "Superman Returns." Pretty sad, eh? Now that I know Aaron can stay with the kids and live to see another day, I will participate in girls night more often!! Thanks, Aaron, it wasn't so bad was it? :)

Aaron's mom flies in tonight for 10 days so I have got to get off this computer and start cleaning. The day she flies back to Seattle, Shellie and our Searcy friends come for the weekend!! So the madness begins!! I can't wait!!
