It's hot, Mom!

The weather the past few days has been just great here in Graham, not too hot and by no means, not too cold. We have been talking about getting a pool for this summer, but when the temp. broke 85, they were both in the house saying, "It's hot, Mom, can we PLEASE go and get a pool?" So, we headed out for Wally World and this is the one we agreed on...not too big and not too small. It came with a cover, which is great, but anyone have any ideas on how to keep the bottom of the pool from getting all slick and slimy?
So, of course Grace is already stripped down before we could get the pool blown up...Aaron used the leaf blower, it took about 3 seconds! No, we could never go upstairs and put on our swimsuits, we have to get wet, now!! Susie stayed in her clothes and then she got cold and wanted to come in, it may have been 85 degrees outside, but that water sure wasn't! Maybe if it warms up a little this weekend, even I'll take a little dip!
This picture of Grace is from this morning. Today is Cowboy Day at school and she was just so excited about her new outfit and boots! I know, the hat is black and the boots are brown, but I was not spending more than $5 on a hat that I know will just end up getting messed up. They had nicer ones in the hat dept., but I wasn't ready to invest $25-50 on a kids hat!!

The pics are back!

We got the proofs back last night and had to have our final order in today to get them for Easter. Here are the 2 that we choose...They are poor quality, so that we can't copy them for ourselves, so don't worry, they will look good by the time they get to you!!
Has anyone else been glued to the TV everytime they do a story on the Winkler family from Tennessee? I feel so sad for those 3 little girls who not only do they now not have a Daddy, but their Mommy will be forever in jail and gone, too. They did a story on the church of christ last night on CNN on the Nancy Grace show. I read the transcript and they did a pretty good job of not telling the truth about the church and what I think that we believe. I don't understand why one religion has to bash another one. There was a baptist preacher on the show, calling the CoC a "cult" and that only we were going to Heaven. Why can't we just show Christ's love and let people know that He died for us so that we can ALL go to Heaven? Rubel Shelley did a good job on the show (from how I read it on the transcript) despite being not treated very nice by Nancy Grace the host of the show. I think she is one of the reasons why Fox News is the station that we watch! Let's just all work on showing Jesus' love and stop the bickering!

Bunnies!

Yesterday was the bunny picture day. The girls had so much fun and did so good. So, at this point I really don't care if the pictures turn out, they just enjoyed being with the bunnies and dressing up and that is good enough for me somedays! Susie was so excited that she actually let me curl her hair under with the curling iron...that is a big step for miss wiggle-worm, she said that she was a big girl like Grace and wanted to get her hair done, too! They only got their portrait done with one bunny and it was in a basket full of flowers most of the time...the last few pics were with the bunny in their lap, but nothing big. The main thing was when they got done, the photographer let them pick a box of candy from a basket. Yes, I said BOX of candy. So, now Susie has a box of Snickers eggs and Grace picked out the Baby Ruth eggs (there were more in that package than Susies', my little redhead is smart!)I'll try to put some pictures up when we get the proofs back tomorrow.
Off to get some things done while Grace is at school!!

Trying again....

Well, I had just written a long post about how things were going and then I lost it!! AKKKK! I knew I should have copied it! Anyway, Grace got the hang of riding her bike with out training wheels this weekend and now she is an old pro! She also has been such a big helper lately and boy am I thankful. The other night after dinner, she cleared off the table all by herself and yesterday afternoon she picked up the living room before bible study!
Susannah is finally over the hump with the potty training. She has gone over 2 weeks with no accidents!! YES!! Last night they were up playing in their rooms and I went up to get them ready for bed and I couldn't find Susie. She was in her bathroom, on the potty. I said, "Sus, what are you doing?" She says, smugly, "Why I'm pooping, Mommy, I'm almost done."....it was so cute. She has also told us that she wants "Panayities" for Easter from the Easter Bunny. Not "Panties" that has 2 syllables, "Panayities" with 3, almost 4 syllables. Yes, my children are from the south!
We found the Easter dresses this weekend and went ahead and bought them. They were marked down (YES!) and they look sweet on the girlies. We are going tomorrow to get their pictures made with live bunnies. They are really excited...I just hope the bunnies don't poop on their new dresses!!

Trying again....

Ft. Worth

Aaron's boss here in Graham sent him on a little trip to Ft. Worth to visit one of their little "hubs" to watch some people in different parts of Schlumberger and see if Aaron saw anything that he would like to do once he gets out of the field. He was with some Sales guys for a little while and they were fun...i.e. lots of eating out, basketball games, you know, client entertainment, but they aren't home much with the wife and kids, so Aaron decided he might not like that position as much. The next group of people he worked with are called DCS (Data Consulting Services)...they interpret the data from the engineers in the field (what Aaron is now) and they present it to the clients in the city and let them decide what to do with their well, oil, gas, or whatever is down in the hole. He of course, really liked the DCS job, mainly because they use computers and he loves computers, and they get to still be with the clients for lunch meetings and such. So, hopefully around August or September (when he is done training all the newbies here in Graham) we will get a letter telling him that he has a job with DCS somewhere.....where? I have no idea, Aaron really wants to go to Denver. Me, I'm more sold on Dallas, Ft. Worth, or OK City, mainly because they are closer to family that is here in the south. Denver sounds like lots of fun (we have friends there, snowboarding, etc...) but I really enjoy being in the south again. We will just have to see what is in store!
I said all this but I didn't say what the girls and I have been doing the past few days. Work payed for the hotel room in Ft. Worth, so the girls and I went along and on Tuesday, us girlies went to the Ft. Worth Zoo. It is the best zoo that I have even been to. It was so perfectly laid out that we didn't even need a map and they had so many animals!!! The girls really had a great time and it took us almost 4 hours to see everything! Yes, that is quite a zoo! We picked a great day to go...it was a little chilly at first, but then it warmed up and was a beautiful sunny day. I highly recommend the Ft. Worth Zoo if you are in the area, it was great! Besides the zoo, we swam in the pool, which even if it says it is heated, it does not help if it is 50 degrees and windy outside...so the girls swam with Aaron and I watched from the warm (it wasn't hot) tub close by. We ate out lots and that was great!! I love going on short little trips and the girls really just love being with their Daddy.
Tuesday night we went Easter Dress shopping....I have never taken the girls into a dressing room to try on clothes. I just know what sizes and buy the dresses online. They have been in between sizes lately and I really didn't want to spend $50 on a dress and not have it fit...so off to Dillard's we all go...Aaron stayed in the dressing room with the girls and they would sit on the floor in their undies while I went back and forth with new dresses for them to try on. It was so much fun. Susannah kept twirling and saying, "I look like Cinderella, Mommy!!"....we didn't decide on a dress yet, but we got their sizes down, I think...we'll take them to Wichita Falls on Saturday and try on a few more. We had a fun time, but now we are home, again, and much join the real world.....

That's tacky

The other day we took the girls for a walk. We try to get out and walk everyday, but some days the weather doesn't cooperate and other days the girls might not cooperate. Of course, with the ever expanding belly and weight gain, their mommy NEEDS to walk every day! We took our normal route and on the way home, we stopped at a friends' house to see pictures of their new grandbaby. Here is part of the conversation:

Mrs. W says, "Well, Grace did you find out if you are having a brother or a sister?"

Grace replies,"It's a brother, Mom and Dad want to name him Parker, but I think that name is tacky."

Mrs. W, laughing, says,"What would you name him, Grace?"

Grace, not laughing and very serious, says,"I would name him Squirt, that is a good name."

Thank you Aunt Jess for teaching Grace the word "Tacky." I think it is her favorite.

On another note:
Has anyone else been glued to the TV like I have the past day watching the tournament? I LOVE March Madness! Tennessee's game yesterday was amazing....I was so shocked!! More games start in just a little while!!!
