Grace's pool

Yesterday we bought the girls this really cute pool with a slide and all these neat toys to play with while they are out there in the pool. It is one of those blow up jobs, but that thing was too big to blow up by ourselves so we got out dad's air compressor. It did the job and it was so quick. Of course, when we had finished, we read the box and it said,"Do not use an air compressor to blow up the pool." Opps! Okay, here is the funny story....Grace was playing in the pool with Susannah and Jesse (my nephew, he is 2 years old) and she goes down the slide on her belly and her head went underwater and she says, "oh pool, you almost got me baptized!" It was so funny. They had a baptism at church on Sunday, but I didn't think that she was paying attention, but I guess that I was wrong!

Milkshakes

Tonight my mom and I took the girls to Wal-Mart and afterwords we took them to Sonic for a milkshake. We drove home and drank our shakes. When we got back to my mom and dad's house, Grace found a way to drink her milkshakes and everyone else's. She drank all of hers and then conned Susannah into her milkshake. Susie is so sweet that she just gives Grace her shake and smiles...then I went to get Susannah a diaper and when I came back downstairs, Grace was drinking MY milkshake! Then tonight when I tucked her in, she says,"my tummy hurts, mommy." Sorry, honey...he he he

WE GOT A HOUSE!!!

Well, after much praying and pacing and many house offers made, we now have a house. We made an offer and they accepted it this morning!!! I'm soooo excited. It has lots of room and a great fenced in big yard for the girls in a quiet neighborhood. I'm just so pumped now. Yesterday, things were looking pretty bleak, we even went to Sonic to drown our sorrows in a banana split and milkshake, but today we are sailing high!! I'll try and post a picture of the house! Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers!!! Now you have to come and visit!

AKKKKK!!!

Okay, we arrived here in Graham, Texas almost 24 hours after leaving Alaska. It was a very long Monday. Today was much worse....there is nothing to buy in this town. It is crazy. We looked at 7 houses today and only 1 is a remote possibility and it is 30 years old (if not older.) There is one house that is new construction, but it backs up to the hospital and the hospital's helipad!!! So, this is my plea. Pray, pray, pray. For what, I have no idea. Just pray! We are going to look at 4 houses tomorrow and hope that we see some glimmer of hope.

On a fun note, we drove to Weatherford (about 60 miles away) tonight and went to dinner and saw, "Batman Begins." It was soooo great. My favorite Batman movie ever, so go and see it if you are into that kind of movie. The girls are at my mom and dad's house and are having a great time with all the puppies. Grace says that she has already picked out hers because, "it's the blackest, it's the smartest and it's the biggest." Pretty cute. I'll update ya'll tomorrow on the house situation!!

Soccer camp

Today was Grace's first day of soccer camp. It was raining this morning when we got up, so of course, she did not want to go to camp, but I the money paying mother, put her in the car. When we got there, the rain had stopped and she went out on the field with the other kids (I had to practically push her out there.) But then the magic started....the coaches for the camp are British (I think) and Grace LOVES her coach. He was so funny and all they did was play games. She didn't want to leave. When it was over, she went over to tell her coach thank you and gave him a hug and he gave her a piece of candy. NOW she is really loving soccer camp. Pretty cute. I got the day off today because my friend, Amber and I got babysitters and drove to Talkettena (I can't spell) Lodge for lunch and to see the view of McKinley and the surrounding mountains, even though it was pretty cloudy. It was a fun lunch anyway and the food was great. When I got home there were cars in my driveway. Little did I know, but the realtor called the babysitter and gave her 15 minutes to clean up a house that is not hers, because she was bringing over people to look at our NOT clean house. I was not very happy. She didn't even call my cell phone to ask, she just came over! Luckily, our babysitter lives across the street and she called her sweet mom and they cleaned up!!! It was a crazy day, but the girls were soooo tired and went to bed BEFORE 8 PM and they are doing great (because they are fast asleep!) I too am about on my way because tomorrow it starts all over again, but Grace has camp in the morning and a game tomorrow night!!!

Susannah at the petting zoo yesterday.

Soccer games and Mosquitoes

I am offically tired of cleaning. I really don't think that my house can get any cleaner, except for the occational dusting that I'll have to do to keep up, but other than that, I'm done! I know that I should be patient, but our house has been on the market one week and the only people that have looked at it are other real estate agents. I'm starting to worry. I know I shouldn't, and maybe it is just fatigue setting in from having to keep the house clean all the time, but I'm soooo ready to sell this house and move. I really do love Alaska, but I think that the pressure of keeping the house clean is getting to me. Pretty sad, eh? Oh well, it will all be over soon enough and another chapter will begin.
Last night was Grace's first soccer game. It was so great. She had NO idea what she was doing, but she looked soooo cute and had fun running up and down the field. She said that her favorite part of the whole game was the end when they got snacks. That's my girl!
Grace and I just went outside to mow the grass and water the flowers. Susannah is taking her nap upstairs, it is so nice. The mosquitoes are soooo huge here this year. I think I have 5 bites, and they aren't even that bad today!! Grace has woken up in the middle of the night the past 3 nights crying because her bites itch. Hopefully they will subside soon! I'll try to post a picture of Grace in her uniform...

Aladdin and Aboo

This should be short...
Today the mosquitos were sooo terrible that the girls and I got eaten up just going to the garage and then back in the house when we got home. We didn't even go outside! So, Grace decided that we needed to play Doctor when we got home so we could fix our ouchies. They also played Aladdin and Aboo (the monkey) go to the doctor. It was so funny. I was the doctor and when I asked Aladdin (Grace) why she needed to go to the doctor, she said, "because I fell off my magic carpet, silly!" It was pretty cute. Also, if you asked Susannah her name, she would say, "Aboo!" Too funny!

Big ole' sign

Well, we now are offically on the market, our house that is, as of today. They came yesterday with this huge gas powered hole digger and this even bigger post like sign. There is no chance of it blowing down, that is for sure. Grace saw it and said, " That is one big ole' sign, Mommy." I will have to say that I agree. I am soooo ready to start showing the house. Every night after the girls go to bed, I clean like a crazy woman so that when the kids wake up, all we have to do is get dressed and get ready to get out of the house, should someone call. We will see...it keeps the laundry from piling up, anyway!
Susannah is still awake and it is past 8 o'clock, her bedtime, but I have put her down 3 times and she just keeps getting up, so I'm going to let her stay down with me for a few minutes and see if then she won't go back up to bed....I'll probably regret this decision, because now every night she will pull this, now....we'll see. Nothing really funny on the Grace or Susannah side of life. They were pretty super today and boy was it great!
