Last Saturday...

We got invited to go with some great friends from church to go with them to a Dallas Stars Hockey game! It was so cool. Neither Grace nor me, have been to a professional hockey game before and the Dallas Stars did not disappoint. They won in a Shoot-Out! We left pretty early Saturday morning for the game because we wanted to take the train into Dallas. The stop is right in the parking lot of the American Airlines Center so you pay to ride the train, but you don’t have to pay to park a car. It’s about the same cost either way, we just thought it would add to the fun to ride the train to the game!

The start of the match!

Before the game Victory Plaza is a neat place to visit! There was a live band, jump houses and the Zamboni too!!

Steve and Bethany were so sweet to invite me and Grace to the game. Grace loves being with Bethany (and so do I.) Bethany is the closet (and her babysitter Jenna) that Grace will ever get to having a big sister and she loves being with her (and Jenna.) We walked around Victory Plaza and then went inside to enjoy the game.

Grace and Bethany with the tripped out Zamboni...it had 2 TV's and 3 X-Boxes in it. Why would you need a TV on a Zamboni is my question?? You are in a Zamboni!

By the way...if you ever go to a hockey game....WEAR A COAT!! I kept my coat on the entire game and was fine, but I think I could have been a tad bit better with a lap blanket! :) Ya live, ya learn. We had a wonderful time and are so thankful for great friends and fun times!!

You know you watch too many sports when....

You know you watch too many sports when you cry at the end of the National Championship game. You know it's even worse when you didn't even attend that school!! Okay, to clarify, I didn't cry when they won, I cried when they showed a recap of some of the games leading up to the last game that were shown along with Carrie Underwood's song, "Ever Ever After." Yeah, I love basketball. And it's not that I even watch women's basketball that much...really I don't watch women's ball at all except when the Lady Vols play (or UConn, I like to see them loose, for some reason it's fun, is that bad? :) ) So, now Candace Parker is off to the WNBA, first round pick, too for the Los Angeles Sparks, all official as of this morning.

Okay, so we were watching the game last night...me and my sweet hubby, and I said, "Has there even been a woman to play in the NBA?" Aaron answers, "I don't know, but I doubt it. I think I could play better or as good as most of the girls out there tonight." Oh, really.....Does anyone know out there? I agree that most women basketball players couldn't play NBA ball just because of pure size and body mass...some of the guys out there are HUGE...Shaquille O'Neal, Big Baby Glen Davis...those two alone are just big and heavy! But to say that there isn't one girl that couldn't play, maybe, but only time will tell. There are some pretty good women ball players out there...of course, I wouldn't want to have to go up against Shaq so I'm pulling myself out of the race to be the first. Would be fun, but I don't want to get squashed!!

Until then, the orange and white is being worn here in our house for the Lady Vols and their 8th National Championship!! Way to go, Lady Vols!!
