Finished!

Aaron finished our swing Saturday morning and it is great! The kids played on it and when they went to bed, Aaron and I went out (with Parker) and enjoyed some quiet time in the moonlight together. I think we are really going to enjoy it being out in the yard. I know, the swing seat isn't white like the frame, but that is because Aaron bought me the swing seat part last year for Valentine's Day when we lived in Graham and we had it hung under our balcony and didn't need a frame. Another reason is that the seat is made of cedar and I am not going to paint a beautiful wood like that with white paint. My swing is just going to be different and not match and that is fine by me!! I'm just happy to have something to sit on the the backyard while the kids play.
Parker found Daisy's doggie door this weekend. He kept pushing it back and forth and trying to get his head through...not going to happy little one....he can try anyway. For now, he is happy trying to eat the dried grass that Daisy brings in on her fur...yuck!
Grace was being a little too quiet in my bathroom on Saturday. When I went to get her, she wasn't in the bathroom, she was in my closet and wearing my old TNT queen jersey. She was so proud of herself for finding it and putting it on. That night she slept in it and said that she slept like a queen! Maybe it will make more sense to her when she actually gets to Harding and figures out what a club queen does! For now, I'm just glad she is having fun and someone is wearing my beloved shirt from college!

Yes, we went again...

As you can see, we went to Six Flags again this week. We tried to go to the Zoo on Wednesday and Thursday, only to get to the turn lane and to be directed across the street to park. Yes, the Ft. Worth zoo hit their all-time attentance records for visitors on Wed. and Thurs. so we turned the car around and did something else!! The thought of being at the zoo with 17, 000 other people (yes, that is how many went on Wednesday) was just too much for us. We have passes and can go anytime, why fight the crowds? We took Grace to Academy sports on Wednesday and got her a bat and a pair of cleats for softball. She started practices this week and is really enjoying herself. Aaron has been going with her and helping coach and he really likes it and loves being with Grace and playing a sport. That is Aaron and the girls in the picture, although I didn't know that there was that huge shadow there until I just looked...I think you can click on the photo and see them better in a big picture....
Thursday, Aaron started building me a Harding swing. Yes, my very own swing and it is almost done, we just have to put a few touches on it and it will be ready to swing in this afternoon. We keep getting distracted by the good weather and Six Flags!! We worked on the swing yesterday morning (Friday) and then decided to go to Six Flags around 2....it was great because most of the people with kids our age were getting tired of being there by that point and we were just getting started!! Both girls actually wanted to see Porky Pig this visit, so that was cute. They have "Looney Tunes Land" for the little ones and that is where we spend most of our time, right now, anyway. Of course, our girls don't watch Looney Tunes, so they have NO idea who any of these characters really are, Grace kept asking their names and what they all do on the cartoons....they just know Porky because Aunt Jess bought them a DVD of Porky cartoons a few years ago. I guess we need to find some good Bugs cartoons so they will go and see some of the other characters when we go next time!
Grace begged us to play a game, so we told her she could spend her own money to play and she did just that!! She picked the dart throwing game and she won this little Nemo look-a-like stuffed animal. Of course, Sus had to play too, so we had to shell out 2 bucks for her because she didn't bring her little purse to the Flags....
This is what happens when you let Grace have the camera. Sus had just gotten in trouble for locking the back door (while we were out there working on the swing and she had gone inside) and started crying. Grace wanted to document the fact that Susie actually does get in trouble sometimes and it's not always Grace's fault all the time....it was pretty funny so I had to add it to the group.

New desk...

When we moved into this house in January, the first thing that we knew that we needed right then was storage. Our old house (30+ years old) had great storage and built-in's. This house (built 2003) has none! So, Aaron has gotten to build many new things with his tools that have long been not used in the past few years because of his busy work schedule. He built these bookcases for the kids in their playroom upstairs and they were just bookshelves with storage in the bottom (there is a Barbie bin, dress-up clothes bin and 2 sections for stuffed animals). On Monday, Aaron finished the desk and top shelf that he designed for the whole set and it looks great!
Grace and Sus have been busy creating lots of projects on the desk already and I love having all of their coloring books out of my office downstairs!! We put a lamp and a radio on the top shelf and it all works together really well...
I got the kids all dressed up in cute little sundresses and Parker in a matching little boy outfit to go to the mall and get their picture made with the Easter bunny...yah, he isn't going to be there until today (Saturday) for the first time....so, we went to the mall and walked around for a little while, all the time having the girls beg for cookie money, knowing that I had just made a new batch at home! I think that their Aunt Jess and Uncle Cliff have gotten them cookies one too many times at the mall!! he he he By the way, they did not get a cookie and were just fine!
Parker started eating real cherrios this week!! Yes, the first step to real people food and I can't believe it is for real!!! He gets excited now when he sees the box coming out of the pantry...He now has 4 teeth on bottom and 3 on top!! No biting action.....yet!

Grace dancing at Six Flags

Six Flags!

We decided to activate our Six Flags passes after church on Sunday. It was an overcast day so we figured the crowds wouldn't be too bad and we were right! It was a great day to go to the park and the weather was perfect....just a little cloudy every once in a while so we stayed plenty warm but it didn't rain until later that night. And because we have season tickets, when we feel like leaving, we can!! Parker was a sweet thing in his stroller and eventually fell asleep. He was great!
Grace and Susannah had a great time in Loony Tunes Land. This was their second time in the bumper cars, the first time, they couldn't figure out how to get the car to go and of course, they wouldn't listen to us tell them! I thought it was funny when they picked the orange car...Daddy's favorite!
This ride went straight up and then dropped them down little by little and they LOVED it....Aaron rode with them because we were not sure how Sus would do....now we know they can ride it by themselves!
I think the swings were the favorite ride of the day....Grace wanted to go back everytime we walked by...then we saw the adult swings and I wanted to ride! We didn't ride any "big people" rides on Sunday, but we sure are going to find a good sitter and go back by ourselves and have some fun soon!!

Friday night movies...

Ususally we watch movies in the Media room upstairs, but this past Friday night the girls rented an older Disney movie and it wouldn't play in the X-box so we came downstairs for movie night. The girls were just watching the movie and enjoying their popcorn, when who would come along to play? Little brother, who is soo very mobile now!! Look at that grin on his little face....
"Come on, Grace, can't I have some popcorn? I'm your favorite little brother!"....You can tell that Sus and Grace aren't paying a bit of attention to him....yet!
So, he goes on the attack from the front this time!! "MOM!! Will you get Parker off of my beanbag?"...Why, no, Susie, I have to take a picture!!
So, Susie must settle for watching the movie with her popcorn bowl on her head (atleast until I finish taking pictures of it all!! A girl has to have something to blog about, right?) More later on the adventures of the Green family on spring break, 2007!!

That is where they go!!

Parker has 3 new teeth coming in this week. Two are coming in on top and one is coming in on the bottom next to the other two teeth that he has had for 4 months. Yes, my son got his first two teeth at the age of four months...ouch. So, now we know where all of Grace's teeth go when she looses them....straight to Parker's little mouth!! he he he. I also want you to notice little bit's hair this week. He has this big clump of hair right down the middle that sticks straight up, like a little mowhawk....it's pretty cute on this blue eyed boy, for sure! Hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday...only one more day until Spring Break here in Texas and Daddy is off for the whole week with Grace! We are going to opening day at Six Flags on Saturday (Thanks Aunt Carrie and Uncle Dale for the season passes!!) and then who knows what we will do for the rest of our week off with Grace and Daddy? Anyone have any suggestions for things to do in the DFW area?

More zoo pictures...

Nana took the girls in the snake house and I waited outside with Parker in the stroller. I really don't like the snake house anyway, to tell the truth, but Grace LOVES looking at all the different snakes, frogs and turtles. They were in there FOREVER! It turns out that Grace looked and wanted to know the name of every creature in the place....now that she can read, she is so into finding out all you can about EVERY animal. Here she is reading about her favorite Komodo dragon....why the dragon? I have no idea why she likes it so much. Could it be that it bites, could kill you, or maybe just that is has the word dragon in it's name and all princess wanna bee's have to have a dragon for her prince to slay....yah, that's it.
Here are the girls and Nana on the train that only costs a buck to ride if you have a zoo membership! Yes! Ride away, girls, ride away!!
Susie loved the petting zoo. She kept chasing this goat until it finally let her brush it. Of course, if I were a goat, I wouldn't want a 3 yr. old chasing me around with a brush either!!
Aaron finished this bookcase while we were gone on Saturday. I'm sooo glad that my parents came over and we went out to dinner Saturday night because there is NO WAY I could have carried this in the house with Aaron. Thanks Dad!! It is over 8 ft. tall!! Aaron did a great job on it and now it is full of our books and stuff here in the office!! Here's to help from family!!! We love you!

Parker's first Zoo trip!

My dad and mom came in from Searcy this past weekend for a quick visit. Dad had a convention at a hotel in Ft. Worth on Saturday so my mom came along to play with us for Saturday. It was great. We ran around town in the morning, doing some dropping off and picking up things from the Apple (computer) store for some friends and then we were off to the Zoo!!
My mother-in-law asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year and I couldn't decide...I mean really, I don't NEED anything, but she suggested Zoo passes and it was such a GREAT idea!! We just activated them on Saturday so they are good until next March. They have the kids pictures on them and everything...really cute!
Parker spent almost all of his time in the stroller, eating little baby cereal, just being as sweet as could be. He really enjoys being outside, so it was perfect for him.
Grace only wanted to really see one animal. The Komodo Dragon. They have a great display here at the Ft. Worth Zoo and of course you can sit on the "pretend" one and have your picture taken.
It was a great day to visit the zoo!

Another day, another tooth!

Sus was so cute yesterday in this new dress that we picked up shopping this past weekend at the Grapevine-Mills outlet mall with my Mom when she came in for a few days. Isn't she so cute? I LOVE the Carter's outlet, of course, I love the Gymboree outlet and the OshKosh outlet, too....okay, okay, I'm a outlet shopping fool, but who isn't? I got she and Grace these dresses and they were $8 each! What a deal, folks!! Come and visit and we will shop, shop, shop, for sure!!!
Grace and Sus went to bed after church last night and then Grace comes running down about 15 minutes later (a BIG no-no at our house, once you are put to bed, you STAY in bed) to tell us that she finally lost her big front tooth!! HOW EXCITED she was!! It was lots of fun finding the tooth pillow and getting her ready for the tooth fairy visit...She is 5 and she has already lost 4 teeth! AKK! You are right, everyone, it does go by, WAY TOO FAST!

We have a membership to this Blockbuster mail-in movie club thing...it's a 2 week trial with 3 movies at a time. By the way, who has time to watch 3 movies a week and still get stuff done? Well, it's a neat program, but we are going to just do the one movie a week thing after our "trial period" is over on Friday. That being said, we watched "The Prestige" last night. It was great and we both loved it...it was about magic and two men who are rival migicians (I don't think that is spelled correctly, but oh well)....it was really good and we both highly recommend it to everyone....I can't remember any language in the movie and who doesn't like magic? Check it out when you have some free time and want a good flick to veg out!
