Sad hour?

Today Aaron went to work late and came home early so we had a fun day just being with Daddy. We decided to check out what they call, "Third Monday Trade Days" here in Graham. It was at the park, so the kids liked that, but it wasn't much more than a big garage sale. There were some neat booths, but for the most part, just used stuff. So, after we were done walking around Grace asked her Dad if we could go to Sonic for happy hour and of course, he said, "Yes, but we have to hurry, it ends in 10 minutes." Grace replies, "Well, then is it sad hour after 10 minutes?" We just laughed and drove to Sonic and made it with plenty of time to spare. I wanted to tell Grace, "Why yes, it is sad hour, because who wants to pay full price for anything?" He he he...I am a true garage sale shopper. :)

Aaron left tonight for a big job so the girls and I are going to Duncan (Oklahoma, where Grace was born) for tomorrow and Sunday. One of my good friends Lara just had a sweet baby girl and her shower is on Sunday and I get to be a hostess, since I'm finally close enough to drive to these fun events!! I'm just excited to be with friends again. We left Alaska June 19 and I'm having a hard time here in Graham. Old towns aren't used to us new folks, I suppose, and people just aren't ready to make friends yet...they better look out though, because once school starts, we are going to be having some playdates and I'll fit in with these Graham girls or make them fit in with me!! he he he It's all good!

Turn around, WOMAN!

Okay, yesterday Aaron was out on location all day so we girls decided to take a movie back to the movie store and then go to Sonic, our favorite place between the hours of 2:30-4:30 P.M. (Happy hour, half-price drinks and slushes.) So, we were going to turn into the Movie Gallery (the only movie place here in Graham) and I missed my turn. Grace proceeds to yell from the back seat,"Turn around, WOMAN, you missed the movie place!" I almost DIED laughing! You see, her precious Daddy thinks it is funny to call me "Woman" when I start to pester him and now it has rubbed off on his oldest daughter. It will only be funny until she does it in front of some older person at church and then I will proceed to be throughly embarrassed.

Grace got a new bike tonight. Last summer I bought her a Barbie bike at a garage sale for like $5 or something crazy like that. We cleaned it up, but she hardly rode it because we lived on a hill and plus, she just really wasn't that interested. But, Tuesday night she wanted to go on a bike ride. We put Sus and Daisy (the new puppy) in the wagon and Grace got on her bike, helmet, knee pads and elbow pads, she will not ride without them, mind you. We turned around to look at her and she looked HUGE on that little 12" bike. So, we made the trip around the neighborhood, but she looked pretty funny on that Barbie bike that I just bought for her last summer. SOOOOO, tonight we got her a BRAND new princess bike at Wal-Mart using the rest of her birthday money. We didn't get home until around 8:30 and it was getting dark and she so wanted to ride her new bike around the block, but she had to settle for the back patio. That bike has it all...a little backpack with a water bottle, little pom poms on the handlebars and even little butterflies in the spokes of the tires.....oh, to be 4 years old in 2005!!!

Oh, I forgot, the corn-on-the-cob picture of Sus. She just played with it all thru dinner and then when she figured out that she could eat it, then it was over and she was hooked. She sat there for the longest time, just smiling and eating her corn. She just loved it!

Susannah ate corn on the cob for the first time tonight for dinner and loved it so much!

Internet, finally!!!

I'm just so happy today! We finally got our internet services connected yesterday and today I can blog! I was going to do it last night, but I figured that I should feed my kids and put them to bed first. He he he. Also, Aaron was out near Ft. Worth (about 1 hour to 2 hours away) on a job location and they sent them home to go to bed. So, he called right as I was getting the kids ready for bed and asked if I wouldn't put them to bed so that he could see them. I gave in and when he got home an hour later, they were soooo excited to see them. It was worth the wating until today to get on and blog, because they had so much fun. Daddy also made them milkshakes and they liked that even more. They ended up going to bed at 11:00....I know, that is the worst, but they had a blast with their dad and they both slept all night in their beds, so I didn't mind at all.
I really love our new house. It's old, but I'm getting used to it...we painted a room this past weekend. Someone, (the people before us or maybe the owners before them) painted one wall in one of the bedrooms bright red and the other 3 walls a taupe color. It wouldn't have been that bad, but it looked like they let their 5 year old do it by themseves!! There is red paint on the carpet, the trim and the switchplate! So, we found the old taupe paint and made a quick fix of that and now the guest room is ready for visitors! It's amazing what a little paint does to brighten up a room!! We also just spent WAY too much money on new carpet for this house. We have never had to buy new carpet before, the carpet that we have had in our past homes has always been just fine, but the carpet in this house, just had to go. So, we are potty training Daisy as quick as can be so that when our new carpet gets installed in 2 weeks (for my 31st birthday, no less) she will be all done with pee peeing in the house!! :) Just a little hint, take good care of your carpets, they cost WAY WAY too much to replace these days, unless you will the lottery, which I am now thinking of playing, as to pay for my new carpet! Much more later, I have so much to tell and too little time to write!! Off to do some laundry and fix lunch for the girlies!!
