This weekend was the last weekend for the Texas State Fair in Dallas and we took the girls on Saturday. They loved it and we have found out that our oldest is a "fair games fanatic" She played some fishing game where you put your pole in the water and depending on the color or the fish, you get a prize. She got the biggest dog I have ever seen. Of course, she also picked the only dog that was yellow, pink and red. Yes, it doesn't match at all, but she picked it out and she loves it. Sus opted for the "pick the duck" game and got a little seal that she held on to all day Saturday. Grace kept chanting,"More games, more games." We kept chanting back, "No money, no money!"
The Texas State Fair is the cleanest fair that I have ever been to. I honestly don't remember seeing a piece of trash on the ground once. And the people were just so nice. One lady in line gave us a coupon to get Grace in for free...we would have had to pay 9 bucks to get her in....so nice!! When Grace won her dog, Sus wanted one too and the worker at the booth just gave her a little animal and she grinned so big and said "Oh, Tank You, tank you!!"
The girls rode some rides, but we honestly went for the food. By the end of the day, we as a family, had ingested: 2 Funnel cakes, 4 hot dogs, a huge bag of cotton candy, 2 bottles of water, 1 bottle of choc. milk and a huge coke. I love the fair!! We would have eaten more, but we ran out of coupons and you can't do anything without coupons at the Texas State Fair! It was 9 coupons for a funnel cake...that is $4.50!! They get you with the coupons, you really don't realize what you are spending until you run out of coupons and have to buy more!! It was worth every memory and every bite of funnel cake, though!!

I am so happy that you found the Texas State Fair. It has been one of my favorite places since I was in the fifth grade. Big Tex, that double ferris wheel, and of course the food! We usually tried to start at one end and eat our way to the other.
Sounds like a fun time. Remember when we introduced Ed Forrest to the Florida State Fair?? He really did eat from one end to the other!!
