Wide Right???

I should name this post,"Terrible quarterbacks" but that would be just plain mean. After watching Monday night's football game between the Florida State Seminoles and the Miami Hurricanes, I can sadly say that Florida State has yet (another) quarterback problem. Not that Oklahoma doesn't either, but WOW, FSU has 2 quarterbacks and they are both pretty stinky right now. I am now in favor of pre-season college football. These young boys (like FSU's QBs) need some real time on the field with some real opposition. All I can say is, I'm so glad that FSU's special teams and defense were "a little" on the ball and saved the game Monday night. Of course, Miami's kicker helped FSU out a little. Paybacks don't feel so good do they, Miami? Here is to, "Wide right!"

Things are moving right along here in the state of Texas...Grace is playing soccer and having fun. Susannah is just content following Grace or playing in her room while she is at school. I, on the other hand, just miss my friends. I have a really great friend in Alaska. Our kids are the same age, our husbands work for the same company and were almost on the same work schedule...we just seem to jive in many areas. I had a neighbor-friend across the street, she was super and had 4 kids, too!! We have never had such a great neighbor in all our moving. If I needed anything, she was there to help without a second thought. I also had this great friend at church, she is getting married in October and I'm soooo excited to be able to go to her wedding in New Mexico (I've never been there!) She is one of the MOST thoughtful people that I have ever known. I also have this other friend, she is addicted to the show, "LOST" on TV and basketball. She has 5 kids and can do anything! These are just a few of my good Alaska friends, and I'm sure that I'll have good northern Texas friends soon, I just need to go and find them! I guess that is what our family gets for working for a oil company that moves you all over the U.S., but right now, I just miss my friends and someone to see and talk to. Here's to fun zoo trips and hunting easter eggs in the snow!!

On another note, Grace was too funny the other day...She was sitting on the couch and I noticed that her shirt was unbuttoned. "Grace, you need to button your shirt up, " I told her. She replies,"Mommy, it's hot and I like it unbuttoned, it is my air conditioner and gives me fresh air."....Her shirt stayed unbuttoned all day. :) Later, we were eating dinner and she just out of no where says, "Mommy, did you know that our fridge is the biggest fridge in the whole United States of Texas?" Our fridge isn't that big, but I really liked the "whole United States of Texas" line....pretty funny, Grace, you've only been in Texas for less than 2 months and you think it's the best state. Spoken like a true Texan, already!

First the unbuttoned shirt and now Grace has realized that Texas is indeed a nation. Next thing we know she will be trying out for the Kilgore Rangerettes and dancing across the football field at halftime in the Cotton Bowl. I love Grace!

Hey Girl,

You made me cry... Friends don't make friends cry! Hee Hee. Don't let Gracie forget that Alaska is still the biggest state.

Love and Wednesdays,

Jenn. I think it's fairplay that the first win we get in 6 tries against the evil empire that is Miami should be a game where they beat us in most every category, except the score. Heaven knows we've had our share of being in that shoe ourselves. Ugly is still a win. As for the lovely Gracie, uncle Kiss loves to read all about her imagination, wit, and style. We all say hey from FL and hope to see you soon.
Go Noles!
